Two characters are planning a robbery at a luxury mansion — but as the heist unfolds, the story quickly expands far beyond the theft itself. Performed in Turkish, Kurdish, English, and German, the play humorously explores questions of ownership: Who owns the money, the land, the language, the stones — and who gets to shape the narrative? In their collaborative debut, Dara Lalo, İrem Ekin, and Sascha Malina Hoffmann invite everyone who has ever dreamed of fast cash or of taking back what was always theirs. Through songs, sharp comedy, and poetic imagery, Raub und Besitz unsettles the seeming certainty of today’s power and property relations. Hands up — this is a robbery!

biographies
With their diverse biographical and professional backgrounds — from Rojava, Ankara, and Germany’s Ruhr region, and spanning stand-up comedy, theater, sound, and academia — Dara Lalo, İrem Ekin, and Sascha Malina Hoffmann bring together not only four languages, but also different experiential worlds and perspectives on relations of ownership and so-called “normality”.
Content-Notes
The performance addresses experiences of classism and racism. It also explores racist prejudices and stereotypes held by children themselves (Doll Test).

Alina Belyagina’s dance performance moves between a night at the club, vogueing, and folk ritual. It unfolds as a choreographic landscape without a center, where body, light, sound, and movement are held in constant flux. The performance opens a space between resistance and radical hope – culminating in the circle dance Khorovod/Kolo as a pulsating finale.

Two circus artists, two artistic signatures, one performance experience. Symbiosis combines contemporary circus and object theatre in a poetic and political dialogue between humans and matter, revealing how fragile our connection to the world around us truly is. You pig, you snake, you dog. We need animals, fear them, care for them, consume them, hunt and worship them. Humans borrow from animals, even to deny other people their humanity. Making of an Animal explores the disturbing depths of animalization. Through movement, video, and live sound dubbing the performers’ bodies become palpable as uncanny yet compelling hybrid forms between human and animal.

The Białowieża Forest, located between Poland and Belarus, is a primeval forest, a biotope, and, to this day, a scene of extreme violence. In the German-Polish production “Wood Wood Wood”, four performers explore the turbulent history of this region on the EU’s external border. And right in the middle of it all: a DJ at his console, busy looping the past and the present.
