We resist! We won’t stop! In an era marked by climate protests and tractor blockades, the question of resistance’s forms and aesthetics is more relevant than ever. Radical Cheerleading – A performance about dance as a form of protest responds with an abundance of glitter, glamour, and humor. Traditional cheerleading, typically seen at football games, isboth referenced and subverted here. Rotating pompoms, pounding beats, and catchy slogans form thecore of this ironic alternative to militant protest. The diverse ensemble, led by choreographer ZufitSimon—who also performs on stage—forcefully, precisely, and humorously asks what causes areworth taking to the streets for today.

Radical Cheerleading was nominated for the German theatre prize DER FAUST in 2023 and won theBest OFF Festival Niedersachsen prize in 2024.

There will be a physical introduction to Radical Cheerleading on 10.10.24. Meet up at 5pm, Halle 6, Dachauerstr. 112 D, no pre-registration required. During the introduction, elements of the show can be experienced physically by trying out a selection of slogans, rhythms and movement sequences with the choreographer and a live musician.

No previous dance experience is required for this physical introduction.

Street art wall to get creative with artist InoxInk

After the performances of Radical Cheerleading, we take protest out of the theatre and back to the streets. Street art was born out of protest slogans in public spaces for all to see. That’s why we invite you to spray, tag and paint graffiti with artist InoxInk. Get creative and tell us: What are you fighting for in your life?

Everyone is invited to join in and express themselves freely, with or without previous experience.

What if human bodies could be used to generate energy? This raises critical questions about which bodies are considered "usable" under this paradigm and which are not. The immersive performance Blackouts explores these issues by transforming visitors into a collective human power plant, blending party and capitalism into a complex narrative. Is this a solution to the climate crisis or merely a new form of exploitation? Are you a cog in the machine or the sand that grinds it to a halt?

Lulu Obermayer tells a story of ghosts, time and devotion and of the (im)possibility of an artistic life. A mirage arises in which theater, dreams and fate become blurred.
