What is a body? And why are media, advertising, and biology books dominated by the same portrayal: white, slim, athletic, healthy? Sahra Huby challenges these norms in her exploration of what a body is—or could be. Originally developed for classrooms, her play offers a transformative anatomy lesson. Through dance, storytelling, and live drawing, Hey Körper?! (Hey Body?!) expands our understanding of the body beyond mere skin, bones, and flesh. It becomes a landscape, a geometric construction, a musical instrument, and a political statement.
Hey Körper?! is a celebration of all bodies, in their diverse shapes and sizes— for audiences aged 8 and up, staged in the State Museum of Egyptian Art in Munich.

biographies
Sahra Huby is a dancer and choreographer who studied in Belgium and Germany. She works as a freelance dancer throughout Europe, notably collaborating with choreographer Anna Konjetzky. Alongside Konjetzky, Quindell Orton, and Susanne Schneider, she co-runs Playground at the Kreativquartier in Munich, a space dedicated to choreographic thinking and queer-feminist discourse. Since 2020, Huby has been engaged in the research project Other Bodies / New Cartographies, which led to the creation of the piece Hey Körper?! and the website The Atlas Project.
Content-Notes
At the beginning of the piece, a picture of two naked bodies appears (search results for the word "body" on Wikipedia). This photo was modified and transformed into a drawing for the presentation. The children are informed about this moment in the play and can choose to close their eyes if they wish.
Accessibility

Sahra Huby has reworked her performance in collaboration with Mella Hambrecht, a dramaturg and author for audio description specializing in accessibility for blind audiences.

„...power for the people: use your body... use your voice... make a choice...“
Cheerleading codes, familiar from sporting events, are both employed and subverted in this dance piece to convey unique messages. Glamour, glitter, and an eclectic mix of slogans create a joyful and ironic alternative to traditional forms of protest. Radical Cheerleading poses the question: what causes are worth taking to the streets for?Tickets

What if human bodies could be used to generate energy? This raises critical questions about which bodies are considered "usable" under this paradigm and which are not. The immersive performance Blackouts explores these issues by transforming visitors into a collective human power plant, blending party and capitalism into a complex narrative. Is this a solution to the climate crisis or merely a new form of exploitation? Are you a cog in the machine or the sand that grinds it to a halt?

In a monologue, Lulu Obermayer celebrates the radical artistic practice of Broadway dancer, choreographer and painter Marta Becket, who opened an opera house in the middle of the Californian desert in 1967. Lulu Obermayer tells a story of ghosts, time and devotion and of the (im)possibility of an artistic life. A mirage arises in which theater, dreams and fate become blurred.
