Who am I without my mobile phone? Emotionally, communicatively, and physically, haven’t we become inseparable from the technology that surrounds us? Thalia Schoeller and Melina Dressler’s theatrical screening places the YouTube video “Bo Burnham vs Jeff Bezos” by CJ the X at its heart, delving into themes of transhumanism and the power dynamics within digital capitalism. They craft an analogue space where visitors engage individually with this digital artwork.
As a community of fate, they provide a contrast to the digital performance, which unfolds over several hours via projectors and digital voice assistants. This collective experience in the present moment counters the isolation typically felt in front of screens, offering a warm and enriching communal experience.
On 13 October from 14:30 to 15:00 there will be a follow-up discussion with Annett Hardegen at the festival meeting point (Import Export).

„...power for the people: use your body... use your voice... make a choice...“
Cheerleading codes, familiar from sporting events, are both employed and subverted in this dance piece to convey unique messages. Glamour, glitter, and an eclectic mix of slogans create a joyful and ironic alternative to traditional forms of protest. Radical Cheerleading poses the question: what causes are worth taking to the streets for?Tickets

What if human bodies could be used to generate energy? This raises critical questions about which bodies are considered "usable" under this paradigm and which are not. The immersive performance Blackouts explores these issues by transforming visitors into a collective human power plant, blending party and capitalism into a complex narrative. Is this a solution to the climate crisis or merely a new form of exploitation? Are you a cog in the machine or the sand that grinds it to a halt?

In a monologue, Lulu Obermayer celebrates the radical artistic practice of Broadway dancer, choreographer and painter Marta Becket, who opened an opera house in the middle of the Californian desert in 1967. Lulu Obermayer tells a story of ghosts, time and devotion and of the (im)possibility of an artistic life. A mirage arises in which theater, dreams and fate become blurred.
