FESTIVAL
FRIENDS
FestivalFriends is an association of 12 independent performing arts festivals in Germany. Through the &Friends Visits format, rodeo and FestivalFriends invite artists from across Germany to gather in Munich. These artists will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, network, and engage with the festival program and its creators. By attending performances and participating in practice-sharing sessions, they will gain insights into various artistic practices and aesthetics of the Munich scene. FestivalFriends is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media through the Federal Association of Independent Performing Arts (Bundesverband Freie Darstellende Künste e. V.) program Verbindungen fördern.
The Dance and Theatre Offices Munich
Tanzbüro München and Theaterbüro München serve as local advisory offices for the city’s independent performing artists, providing information, networking opportunities, and guidance on all aspects of artistic production. As part of Rodeo 2024, they are hosting a workshop on sustainable collaboration and partnering in the Schau mer mal series.
Import Export
Import Export is a sociocultural venue in Munich that hosts concerts, workshops, readings, performances, and festivals. For 11 years, it has provided a unique space for artistically and socially engaged individuals to work experimentally and collaboratively across genres and disciplines. Previously a frequent venue for Rodeo, Import Export is now partnering on content for the first time, contributing to formats like Taxi Salon, Impact, and various concerts and parties as part of the festival.
Netzwerk freie Szene München e.V.
Founded in 2017, the Netzwerk advocates for Munich’s independent performing artists, fostering cooperation among cultural professionals, enhancing regional and national networking, and disseminating information about the community’s activities. Its members include individual artists, collectives, groups, and venues from all fields of the performing arts. They produce dance, theater, performances for all ages and backgrounds.
Bavarian-Czech-Platform for the Independent Performing Arts (BY-CZ-PLATFORM)
Founded at the end of 2022 by the Association of Independent Theaters of the Czech Republic (AND CR) and the Bavarian Association of Independent Performing Arts (VFDKB), the platform aims to connect institutions and practitioners in both countries. It facilitates events in the field of independent performing arts, initiates new international collaborations, and seeks sustainable solutions for responsible cultural creation.
Playground
The Playground, located at HALLE6 in Munich’s Kreativquartier, serves as a studio space dedicated to dialogue and experimentation. Led by Anna Konjetzky & Co and other artists, it fosters artistic exploration and body-based research. From this queer-feminist perspective, they critically examine society, coexistence, and future possibilities.
